DIY Panicle Hydrangea Wreath

The weather is getting cooler, and the days are getting shorter, which means it’s the perfect time for some DIY! Today we’re going over how to turn your end of season panicle hydrangea blooms into a beautiful wreath that you can use in your fall décor – indoors and outdoors! Let’s get into it.

You only need a few things to get started:

The Necessary Tools
  • Panicle hydrangea blooms – make sure to cut the blooms with long enough stems to easily weave into the wreath. Also, we recommend making the wreath while the blooms are fresh and then letting them dry down while placed in the wreath form.
  • A wreath form – there are many different types of wreath forms to choose from. We used a straw wreath form, but another good choice for this DIY would be a grapevine wreath form.
Optional Tools
  • Wire – can be used to secure the blooms more firmly to the wreath form.
  • Wire cutter
Step one: Prep

Take all the leaves off the panicle hydrangea stems.

Step 2: Weave the Hydrangeas into the Wreath Form

Weave the bloom stems into the wreath form to your liking.

  • Tip: We recommend keeping all of the blooms flowing in the same direction to make inserting them into the wreath form easier.
Step 3: Secure with Flower Wire

Optionally, you can use flower wire to secure the stems and blooms more firmly to the wreath form.

Step 4: Repeat!

Repeat step two until the wreath is full!
