Cayenne Dogwood

Cornus amomum 'Cayenne'

Cayenne Dogwood is a native selection that stands out with bright red stems that shine all winter, even in warmer winter areas. The fresh green foliage looks good all summer and is accented by porcelain blue berries that form in late summer. As temperatures cool down, the green leaves turn orange red. To date, Cayenne is Japanese beetle and canker resistant, and is well-suited to moist areas, is good in shrub borders, and is frequently used for wetland mitigation.
